Q&T Foods IPO Share Price and Investment Details

Q&T Foods IPO is a fixed-price SME issue proposed for listing on the BSE SME platform. The IPO comprises up to 23 lakh equity shares.

The issue received comparatively moderate investor demand, closing at 1.42 times subscription. Individual Investors subscribed 2.64 times, while the NII portion received bids for only 0.20 times the shares reserved for the category.

Utilisation of IPO Proceeds

Q&T Foods proposes to utilise the IPO proceeds for multiple business requirements. One of the key objects is financing capital expenditure for the purchase of equipment and machinery for its existing manufacturing facility, for which approximately ₹4.42 crore was proposed in its IPO documents.

The company also proposes to utilise the proceeds to part-finance working capital requirements, repay or prepay certain outstanding borrowings and meet general corporate purposes.

These investments are expected to support the company's manufacturing capabilities and provide additional working capital as it seeks to expand its bakery products business.

Business Overview

Q&T Foods operates in India's packaged bakery products market, manufacturing and selling savoury bakery products under the American Bakers brand. Its portfolio includes different varieties of bread as well as buns, pav, pizza bases and kulcha.

The company relocated to a manufacturing facility in Dasna, Ghaziabad in 2024, which enabled it to expand its production capabilities. Its manufacturing process uses raw materials including flour, sugar, salt, oils and fats, yeast and other ingredients sourced primarily from suppliers in Uttar Pradesh and nearby regions.

Rather than relying on company-owned retail stores, Q&T Foods follows a dealer-led distribution model. Its network of more than 50 dealers distributes products to retailers and multi-brand outlets, with the company's manufacturing location helping it serve its core Uttar Pradesh market.

Key strengths include its in-house manufacturing capabilities, established American Bakers brand, diversified bakery portfolio, technology-supported production processes and existing sales and distribution network.

Investors should also consider risks associated with geographical concentration in Uttar Pradesh, competition from established packaged bakery brands and local bakeries, fluctuations in prices of flour and other raw materials, relatively small scale of operations, working-capital requirements and dependence on its dealer-led distribution network.
