India Likely to Extend RoDTEP Export Incentive Scheme by Five Years
Last Updated: 16th September 2026 - 05:17 pm
India is likely to extend its RoDTEP export incentive programme for another five years, offering exporters continuity beyond the scheme’s current September 30 deadline.
It is estimated that the RoDTEP scheme will continue to run for another five years after its due expiry date, according to an official source in the trade wing of the government.
The Commerce Ministry has further requested ₹230 billion or roughly ₹23,000 crore from the Finance Ministry for the implementation of the RoDTEP scheme for the financial year 2026-27. The amount translates into roughly $2.40 billion using the exchange rate mentioned in the report.
RoDTEP reimburses exporters for certain taxes and duties embedded in exported products that are not refunded through other mechanisms.
The proposed five-year extension has not yet been formally announced. The existing programme remains scheduled to run until September 30, with a decision on its continuation awaited.
