Quant Small Cap Fund: Key Changes in the August 2026 Portfolio

Quant Small Cap Fund is an open-ended equity scheme that invests mainly in small-cap stocks. The portfolio saw a few changes in August 2026. Four new stocks were added, while six stocks were removed.
Some existing holdings also saw a change in their portfolio weight. HFCL continued to be the largest holding. RBL Bank moved up to the second spot, ahead of Adani Enterprises.

What Changed in the August Portfolio?
Four stocks were added to the portfolio in August, while six were removed. The fund also made some sizeable changes to existing holdings.
HFCL remained at the top. RBL Bank moved up to second place, while Adani Enterprises moved to third.
The equity and equity-related allocation rose from 88.46% in July to 89.54% in August. The total portfolio value also increased from around ₹34,069 crore to ₹35,557 crore.
HFCL Remains the Top Holding
HFCL continued to occupy the top position.
The fund held 9.56 crore shares of HFCL in both July and August. However, its portfolio weight rose from 5.44% to 6.70%.
RBL Bank moved into second place. Its allocation was 4.51% in August, compared with 4.65% in July.
Adani Enterprises moved to third place. The shareholding remained unchanged at 53.43 lakh shares. Its portfolio weight, however, fell from 4.72% to 4.30%.

The five stocks together made up 22.06% of the portfolio.
Adani Power Ltd stayed in fourth place, while Aegis Logistics Ltd remained fifth. Their weights fell from 3.72% to 3.34% and from 3.39% to 3.21%, respectively.
Four New Stocks Added
Four new names appeared in the August portfolio.
Indegene Ltd was the largest of the four. The fund held 85.16 lakh shares worth around ₹520.86 crore. The stock made up 1.46% of the fund's net assets.
Gujarat Themis Biosyn Ltd was added through a QIP. The holding stood at 54.38 lakh shares, valued at around ₹192.50 crore. Its allocation was 0.54%.
The other two additions were Info Edge (India) Ltd and Sudarshan Chemical Industries Ltd. They had allocations of 0.21% and 0.07%, respectively.
Six Stocks Removed
Six stocks from the July portfolio were not present in the August statement.

Viyash Scientific Ltd had the highest allocation among these stocks at 0.83% in July. EPL Ltd accounted for 0.52%, while Himadri Speciality Chemical Ltd had a 0.25% allocation.
SBI Funds Management Ltd had only a small position in July, worth around ₹1.34 crore. Its allocation was rounded to 0.00%.
Where Did the Fund Cut Its Holdings?
Some existing positions were cut sharply in August.
The biggest reduction came in Gujarat State Fertilizers & Chemicals Ltd. The holding fell from 76.62 lakh shares to 65.12 lakh shares. That is a reduction of around 11.51 lakh shares. Its portfolio weight declined from 0.36% to 0.29%.
In Oswal Pumps Ltd, the holding fell from 14.66 lakh shares to 4.35 lakh shares. The mutual fund reduced its position by around 10.30 lakh shares. The allocation fell from 0.14% to 0.04%.
Rishabh Instruments Ltd also saw a sizeable cut. The holding dropped from 12.52 lakh shares to 3.90 lakh shares. Its portfolio weight declined from 0.22% to 0.08%.
The position in Aster DM Healthcare Ltd was reduced by around 6.32 lakh shares. Its allocation fell from 2.73% to 2.27%.
Equity Allocation Rises
Equity and equity-related investments stood at ₹31,839.28 crore in August, up from ₹30,138.45 crore in July.
As a percentage of net assets, the allocation increased from 88.46% to 89.54%.
The derivatives position also changed during the month. Derivatives accounted for 5.36% of net assets in July. In August, the statement showed an outstanding derivatives exposure of -0.56%.
The August portfolio therefore saw changes on several fronts. HFCL remained the largest holding, while RBL Bank moved ahead of Adani Enterprises. The fund also made larger additions to Karnataka Bank Ltd, Sonata Software Ltd and Pfizer Ltd.
