Rail Vikas Nigam Limited has received a Letter of Acceptance from East Coast Railway for railway infrastructure works valued at ₹404.88 crore, including GST.
The contract covers a package of civil, track, signalling and electrification works linked to the construction of a third railway line on the Bhadrak-Vizianagaram section.
RVNL is required to complete the project within 912 days.
Work covers roadbed, bridges and track infrastructure
The scope assigned to RVNL is broad.
It includes construction of the roadbed, minor and major bridges, road under bridges and limited-height subways, along with building works.
The company will also handle the supply of ballast, permanent-way linking and other allied works required for the project.
Signalling and telecommunication utilities that fall within the project area will also have to be shifted as part of the execution.
Electrification forms part of the contract
Electrical work is another significant part of the order.
RVNL will carry out general service works, power-supply arrangements and the shifting or modification of high-tension and low-tension lines between Khurda Road and Gangadharpur.
These works are tied to the wider third-line project between Nergundi-Barang and Khurda Road-Vizianagaram.
Project forms part of 385-km rail section
The broader third-line development covers the Bhadrak-Vizianagaram section, spanning about 385 km.
This includes a 22-km stretch between Nergundi and Barang and a 363-km stretch between Khurda Road and Vizianagaram.
The contract awarded to RVNL specifically covers works between Khurda Road and Gangadharpur within this larger programme.
Order to be completed within 912 days
The Letter of Acceptance fixes the project value at ₹404,88,18,738, inclusive of GST.
RVNL has been given 912 days to complete the work.
The order has been awarded by East Coast Railway and falls within RVNL’s regular railway infrastructure business. The company operates as a Government of India enterprise under the Ministry of Railways and executes projects across areas such as new lines, doubling, electrification, bridges and metro infrastructure.
The new contract adds another large railway infrastructure assignment to RVNL’s execution pipeline, with the project now moving from award to the implementation stage.
