SBI Life Insurance Company has granted 4,160 equity shares to its staff through the exercise of vested share options of its employee share option plan.

This decision has been taken by the company’s Board Stakeholders’ Relationship & Sustainability Committee on October 7, according to the statement released by SBI Life.

Face Value of each allotted share is ₹10.

Allotment of Shares Under 2018 ESOP Scheme

The latest allotment is made under the SBI Life Employee Stock Option Scheme 2018.

An employee stock option scheme enables eligible employees to buy shares of the company if their options vest and fulfill the associated criteria.

In this particular case, some employees opted for the vested options, after which SBI Life allotted the requisite number of equity shares, i.e., 4,160.

However, no information on the total number of employees who opted for the shares is provided in the filing.

Increase in Paid-Up Capital After Allotment

Following the issue of the new shares, SBI Life’s paid-up equity share capital stands at ₹1,003.41 crore.

The company now has 1,00,34,09,233 equity shares outstanding, each with a face value of ₹10.

The 4,160 shares represent a very small addition to the insurer’s overall equity base.

SBI Life has made similar allotments under its employee stock option programme earlier as employees exercised vested options. Exchange records, for instance, show another ESOP-related allotment in September 2026.

Filing Limited to ESOP Allotment

The October 7 announcement is specifically an update on the allotment of shares under the employee stock option scheme.

SBI Life did not announce any broader change to its business operations, financial outlook or capital-raising plans through this disclosure.

With the latest allotment completed, the immediate change is straightforward: another 4,160 equity shares have been added to SBI Life’s outstanding share capital following the exercise of vested employee options.
