Indian equity markets opened lower on Wednesday, November 4, with the Nifty 50 starting the session 0.29% below its previous close. At 10:08 am, the index was trading at 23,931.15. Despite the weak opening, several stocks in the broader market recorded sharp price movements following quarterly earnings and company specific announcements.

Global markets remained cautious on Wednesday as early US midterm election results showed gains for the Democrats, raising uncertainty over future US policies. Meanwhile, Brent crude traded around $103 per barrel amid ongoing US-Iran tensions and concerns over oil supply through the Strait of Hormuz.

Here are some of the notable gainers and losers in the Nifty 500 index.
