Why These Stocks Are Rising and Falling Today: JWL, BSOFT & POONAWALLA Gain; ECLERX, CRAFTSMAN, & CARTRADE Decline
Last Updated: 29th October 2026 - 02:34 pm
Indian equity markets opened in the positive territory on Thursday, October 29, 2026, with the Nifty 50 up 0.14% at 22,731, aided by softening crude oil prices and fresh hopes of peace talks in the Middle East. Brent crude was down around 1.12% to $114.02 a barrel, reversing some of the previous session's gains as fresh diplomatic efforts between the US and Iran boosted hopes of easing geopolitical tensions.
Meanwhile, the US Federal Reserve kept its benchmark interest rate at 3.75% to 4% after its October 28 FOMC meeting, as expected by the market. The central bank said economic activity remained “resilient” but was cautious, noting inflation remained “elevated” and left the timing of future policy moves open. On the institutional front, both the FIIs and DIIs were net buyers on Wednesday, October 28. While the FIIs bought Indian equities worth Rs 871.83 crore, the DIIs bought shares worth Rs 643.35 crore.
Amidst this backdrop, here are the top gainers and losers in the Nifty 500 index.
