Amber Enterprises India has taken a fresh step into mobile phone manufacturing with the creation of a new wholly owned subsidiary dedicated to the business.

The company has incorporated Amber Digital Technologies Private Limited in India, according to a stock exchange filing made on October 6.

Amber Digital was formally incorporated on September 18 and will operate in the electronics and telecommunications sector. Its stated business purpose is straightforward to manufacture mobile phones.

Amber Enterprises to Own 100% of New Company

Amber Digital will be fully owned by Amber Enterprises, giving the listed company complete control over the new entity.

Amber Enterprises has infused ₹1 lakh as subscription money into the subsidiary. The investment has been made in cash.

The company said no governmental or regulatory approval was required for incorporating the entity.

Beyond these initial details, the filing does not specify the manufacturing capacity, location of the proposed facility, additional investment requirements or a timeline for starting commercial production.

Mobile Phones Add a New Manufacturing Focus

The incorporation gives Amber Enterprises a dedicated entity through which it can build its presence in mobile phone manufacturing.

Amber already operates across multiple manufacturing businesses. According to the company, its broader group has operations spanning consumer durables, electronics manufacturing services, and railway subsystems and defence.

The latest move places mobile phones more directly within that manufacturing portfolio.

It also follows an earlier development in June, when Amber Group entered into a manufacturing collaboration with Oppo Mobiles India. Under that agreement, Amber Group is to manufacture mobile phones for the OPPO, OnePlus and Realme brands in India.

New Entity Incorporated in September

Amber Digital was incorporated on September 18, although Amber Enterprises disclosed the development to the BSE and National Stock Exchange on October 6.

The company holds 100% of the subsidiary and has identified its industry as electronics and telecommunications.

For now, Amber Enterprises has kept the announcement limited to the creation and purpose of the new entity. It has not disclosed how much it ultimately plans to invest in the mobile phone business or the scale at which Amber Digital could operate.

What the filing does establish is a dedicated corporate structure for the business. With Amber Digital now incorporated, mobile phone manufacturing becomes a clearly defined part of Amber Enterprises’ expanding electronics manufacturing presence.
