Jio Platforms to Start IPO Investor Outreach Next Week, November Listing in Discussions
Last Updated: 8th September 2026 - 12:36 pm
Jio Platforms is set to start talks with investors for its proposed initial public offering as early as next week, according to a Business Standard report. The company is in talks with banks about a possible November listing, although the timeline has not been finalised.
The meetings are expected to cover investors in the U.S., Singapore, Hong Kong, London and West Asia.
Jio Platforms filed its draft IPO papers on June 19 and received approval from the Securities and Exchange Board of India (Sebi) on August 28. The issue may include up to 270 million new shares, which would amount to about 2.9% dilution of the company's equity, based on Bloomberg News calculations cited in the report.
The final size and valuation of the issue are yet to be decided, while the listing timeline could also change. A portion of the funds raised is planned to be used for debt repayment.
Jio Platforms could raise up to $4 billion from the IPO, according to people familiar with the matter cited in the report.
Jio Platforms is the digital and telecommunications arm of Reliance Industries and owns India's largest wireless carrier.
The IPO plans come at a time when the Indian market is preparing for other sizeable listings. The National Stock Exchange of India has received Sebi approval for its IPO, which is expected in September and could raise about $3 billion.
Indian companies have raised nearly $10 billion through IPOs so far in 2026. In each of the previous two years, IPO fundraising crossed $20 billion. The third quarter has accounted for roughly $5.8 billion of this year's IPO proceeds so far, more than the amount raised in the first half of 2026.
