Kothari Industrial Shares Soar by 13% Amid a Spate of Orders
Last Updated: 10th September 2026 - 02:06 pm
Shares of Kothari Industrial Corporation saw a strong movement on Thursday, September 10, soaring by 13% in intraday trading as the company’s spate of orders drew investors’ attention.
As of 11:55 am on the BSE, the stock was quoting at ₹151.25, having gained 13% on the day, after reaching a high of ₹159.90 and hitting a low of ₹138.25 in intraday trade.
The stocks witnessed the surge even amid a rather muted market atmosphere, providing some relief after the stock’s dismal performance in the last few months. In 2026 so far, the share price of Kothari Industrial has plunged by about 26%, while in the past 12 months, the drop has been around 73%.
Market capitalization of the firm was at ₹1,633.83 crore.
Recent Orders Put Kothari Industrial in Focus
A series of contracts secured over the past few weeks has provided fresh momentum around the company.
On September 3, Kothari Industrial announced that it had received two orders connected with the supply of breakfast to schoolchildren under the Perunthalaivar Kamarajar Morning Breakfast Scheme.
These came after other recent orders, including Letters of Acceptance worth more than ₹14.5 crore from Indian Railways’ Integral Coach Factory and Tamil Nadu municipalities.
The company had also secured breakfast-scheme contracts worth ₹5.35 crore and ₹4.15 crore.
Taken together, the disclosed orders have pushed Kothari Industrial’s order book beyond ₹35 crore, according to the report.
Stock Remains Far Below Its 52-Week High
Thursday’s rise was sharp, but the stock remains well below the levels seen over the past year.
Kothari Industrial’s 52-week high stands at ₹610.45, while its 52-week low is ₹128.90. At Thursday’s intraday high of ₹159.90, the shares were still substantially below their one-year peak.
The company’s return on equity stood at negative 63.24%.
The financial backdrop also remains challenging. The report highlighted a widened net loss of ₹31 crore, along with auditor qualifications relating to unverified balances.
A Diversified Business Portfolio
Kothari Industrial Corporation operates across several businesses rather than relying on a single segment. Its activities span agriculture, manufacturing, technology and consumer retail stores.
For Thursday’s session, however, the focus remained firmly on its recent contract wins. The stock’s 13% rise marked a sharp short-term rebound, but it came against the backdrop of a roughly 73% decline over the past year and financial challenges that remain part of the company’s broader picture.
