The NIFTY BANK rose 414.30 points (+0.76%) to close at 55,128.40, helped by strength in several heavyweight banking counters. KOTAKBANK (+3.82%) posted the highest gain, followed by INDUSINDBK (+2.20%) and AXISBANK (+2.11%), while HDFCBANK (+0.94%) and ICICIBANK (+0.81%) also finished in positive territory.
