Tata Group shares saw strong buying in early trade on September 15 after the Reserve Bank of India rejected Tata Sons’ submission seeking to remain a private company.

Tata Chemicals recorded the biggest move, hitting its 20% upper circuit during morning trade on the BSE. Tata Investment Corporation was another major gainer, with the stock rising 15%.

The buying extended to several other companies from the group, although the gains were more moderate.

TCS, Tata Motors PV and Other Group Shares Gain

TCS, Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles, Tata Elxsi and Tata Technologies rose as much as 5% during the morning session.

The moves came after the RBI’s decision concerning Tata Sons, the holding company of the Tata Group. The central bank rejected Tata Sons’ submission to remain private, bringing the issue back into focus for listed Tata Group companies.

The market reaction was strongest in Tata Chemicals and Tata Investment Corporation, while other group stocks also traded higher in the opening part of the session.

The September 15 report remains a developing story and does not provide further details on the RBI decision or indicate what steps Tata Sons may take following the rejection.
