Indian stock markets will remain closed tomorrow on Tuesday, March 3, 2026, on account of the festival of Holi. Both the Bombay Stock Exchange & the National Stock Exchange of India (NSE) will suspend trading activities across segments for the day.
As per the exchange notification, there will be no trading in the Equity Segment and the Equity Derivatives Segment on that day. Trading in the Currency Derivatives Segment, NDS-RST and Tri-Party Repo segments will also remain closed on March 3, 2026.
Indian stock markets will remain closed on March 3, 2026, for Holi. Trading across equity, derivatives, and currency segments will resume on Wednesday post the stock market holiday.
In the Commodity Derivatives Segment and the Electronic Gold Receipts (EGR) Segment, trading will remain suspended during the morning session from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. The evening session in these segments will resume at 5:00 PM and remain open until 11:55 PM, as per the exchange holiday framework.

According to Drik Panchang, Holika Dahan in 2026 falls on March 2, 2026. The Purnima Tithi begins at 5:55 PM on March 2, 2026, and ends at 5:07 PM on March 3, 2026. Bhadra Punchha is from 1:25 AM to 2:35 AM on March 3, while Bhadra Mukha is from 2:35 AM to 4:30 AM.
The Holi festival, also known as Rangawali Holi or Dhulandi, will be observed in March 2026 based on the Hindu calendar calculations. Despite confusion regarding the celebration date due to a Chandra Grahan on March 3, 2026, the stock exchanges have officially designated March 3, 2026, as the trading holiday.
