Shares of Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC), Page Industries and LG Electronics India saw strong post-results reactions on May 22 as investors assessed quarterly earnings, margin trends and revised brokerage estimates.

LIC shares rose nearly 5% intraday on the BSE after the insurer reported better-than-expected growth in value of new business (VNB) margins for the March quarter. The stock touched ₹839 during the session before trimming some gains.

The state-run insurer posted a 23.18% year-on-year rise in net profit for Q4FY26 at ₹23,420.43 crore. Annualised premium equivalent (APE) increased around 22% to ₹22,954 crore, while VNB climbed 66.7% to ₹5,891 crore.

Brokerages revised their earnings estimates and target prices upward following the results. Emkay Global Financial Services said LIC’s VNB margin for Q4FY26 came in at 25.7%, ahead of its estimate of 20.5%.

Product Mix Supports LIC Margins

LIC said the non-participating business segment contributed 53% of total VNB in FY26, remaining the company’s most profitable category. The participating segment accounted for 28%, while group business contributed 19%.

For FY26, LIC reported a VNB margin of 21.2%, helped by higher-ticket policies and improved persistency. The company’s assets under management rose 5.08% year-on-year to ₹57.29 trillion at the end of FY26.

However, embedded value growth remained subdued due to market-related factors. LIC’s embedded value stood at ₹7,89,200 crore, up 1.6% year-on-year.

Page Industries Advances On Revenue Growth

Page Industries shares also moved higher after the apparel manufacturer reported double-digit revenue growth for the March quarter. The stock climbed as much as 5% intraday on the NSE before paring gains later in the session.

The company posted a net profit of ₹178.73 crore for Q4FY26, up 9% from ₹164 crore a year earlier. Revenue from operations rose 14% year-on-year to ₹1,252.6 crore. Page Industries said sales volumes grew 10.8% to 54.5 million pieces during the quarter.

The company also announced a fourth interim dividend of ₹150 per share. The record date has been fixed as May 27, while the dividend payment is scheduled on or before June 19.

Following the results, JM Financial maintained its “Buy” rating on the stock and increased the target price to ₹41,500 from ₹37,650.

LG Electronics India Falls After Q4 Earnings
