Low price stocks: These scrips are locked in the upper circuit on March 17

At 11 am on Thursday, the core equity indices, i.e. Sensex and Nifty 50, were trading higher as the global markets are up by more than 3 per cent, as per the widespread expectations, the Federal Open Market Committee raised the interest rate by 25 basis points. The new target range now is 25-50 bps. The crude oil prices are also easing, paving way for optimistic sentiments in the investors.
The Sensex was trading at 57,806.3 up by 989.67 points or 1.74 % and the Nifty 50 was trading at 17,254, up by 278.65 points or 1.64%.
The top five gainers in the Nifty 50 pack are HDFC Ltd, Titan Company, Kotak Mahindra Bank, Asian Paints, and Eicher Motors. Meanwhile, the top five stocks pulling down the index are IOC, ONGC, Coal India, HCL Technologies, and Cipla.
BSE Midcap index is trading at a level of 23,877.24, up by 1.29%. The top 3 gainers of the index were Info Edge India, Whirlpool India, and Godrej Properties. Each of these scrips gained more than 4%. The top three stocks dragging the index were New India Assurance Company, ABB India, and Apollo Hospital.
BSE Smallcap index is trading at, 27,705.20, up by 1.17%. The top three gainers are RPG Life Sciences, Seamec, and Control Prints. Each of these stocks gained more than 15%. The top three stocks pulling the index down are GTPL Hathway, Future Enterprises, and Future Lifestyle Fashions.
With all the sectors trading in the green, BSE Finance, BSE Private Bank, BSE Consumer Durables, and BSE Realty were up by more than 2%.
