Stocks In Focus Today: TVS Motor, Paytm, RBL Bank, Glenmark Pharma, NTPC Among Key Counters

TVS Motor Company, One 97 Communications, RBL Bank, Glenmark Pharma and Gujarat Themis Biosyn will remain in focus on May 25 amid index reshuffles, stake sales, regulatory developments and acquisition announcements. Several companies are also set to report quarterly earnings later in the day, while multiple stocks will trade ex-dividend and ex-bonus.

FTSE Index Changes Effective From June 22

Global index provider FTSE Russell has announced the inclusion of Tata Capital, Lenskart Solutions, LG Electronics India, Meesho, ICICI Prudential Asset Management Company and Billionbrains Garage Ventures, the parent entity of Groww, in the FTSE All World and FTSE All Cap indices. The changes will come into effect from June 22.

TVS Motor Company will replace Adani Enterprises in the Sensex 50 index. At the same time, Adani Enterprises, Ashok Leyland, One 97 Communications and CG Power and Industrial Solutions will enter the BSE Sensex Next 50 index, replacing TVS Motor, Ambuja Cements, Colgate-Palmolive India and Tube Investments of India.

Ashok Leyland, One 97 Communications and CG Power will also be added to the BSE 100 index from June 22.

Paytm, JSW Cement See Large Block Deals

Shares of One 97 Communications may remain active after Elevation Capital and its affiliated entities sold 85.98 lakh shares, equivalent to a 1.34% stake, through block deals worth ₹963.6 crore. Exchange data showed the transaction was executed at ₹1,120.65 per share.

Institutional investors including Societe Generale, Nippon India Mutual Fund, Goldman Sachs Bank Europe and Edelweiss Mutual Fund participated in the purchase.

In another transaction, AP Asia Opportunistic Holdings sold 4.58 crore shares of JSW Cement, representing a 3.36% stake, for ₹568.14 crore at ₹124 per share. Domestic mutual funds and overseas investors acquired the stake.

Madison India Opportunities IV also exited a 2.15% holding in Pine Labs through block deals valued at ₹356.86 crore.

RBL Bank Open Offer, Glenmark Settlement

RBL Bank will remain in focus after Emirates NBD Bank announced an open offer to acquire up to 41.55 crore shares, or 26% of the expanded voting capital, at ₹282.38 per share. The proposed offer size stands at ₹11,735.3 crore.

Glenmark Pharmaceuticals said its U.S.-based subsidiary Glenmark USA has agreed to a settlement worth $29.628 million with state attorneys general. The payment will be made over five years, subject to court approval. The company clarified that the settlement does not amount to admission of wrongdoing.

Corporate Updates And Regulatory Developments

Gujarat Themis Biosyn has signed a definitive agreement to acquire Japan-based MicroBiopharm Japan Co for ₹1,300 crore. The transaction is expected to close in Q2FY27.

Lupin said China’s National Medical Products Administration approved its abbreviated new drug application for Oseltamivir Phosphate oral suspension, marking the company’s first product launch in China.

Federal Bank received approval from the Reserve Bank of India for the appointment of Elias George as part-time chairman for three years effective May 23.

Meanwhile, the National Stock Exchange will remove Exide Industries and Nuvama Wealth Management from the futures and options segment with effect from July 29.

Among dividend-related actions, Tata Consultancy Services, Tata Consumer Products, L&T Finance and Siyaram Silk Mills will trade ex-dividend, while PAE will trade ex-bonus. Kaynes Technology India and SAIL remain under the F&O ban list for the session.
