Astral, Bank of Baroda, and Bank of India have witnessed volume burst in the last 75 minutes of the trade.

As the saying goes, the first and the last hour of each trading session is the most important and active in terms of price and volume. More so, the activity in the last hour is said to be of utmost importance because most of the pro traders and institutions are active at this time. Hence, when a stock sees a good spike in volume in the last leg of trade along with price rise it is said to be the pro and institutions have a keen interest in the stock. Market participants should keep a close watch on these stocks as they can witness good momentum in the short-medium term.

So, based on this principle, we have shortlisted three stocks, which have witnessed volume burst in the last leg of trade along with price rise.

Astral: The stock rose about 2.37% on Friday and closed above its 20-DMA and 50-DMA. The stock made volatile moved in either direction before shooting up towards the end of the session. Last 75 minutes saw the stock to rise by 1.67% and along with this, almost 50% of the daily volume was recorded during this period. Also, today’s volume is more than double of the previous day’s volume which shows that the institutional buying has taken place. Thus, one can expect significant price action to follow in upcoming days.

Bank of Baroda: The stock rose by 2.11% to close at 94.20. The stock traded mostly in the negative zone but zoomed nearly 2.56% in the last 75 minutes. Over 18 million shares have been traded in the last hour which has been the highest in recent time. The total volume stands at 33 million. Volume witnessed today was more than the average volume of the last 10 days and it is expected that the stock might show some momentum in the coming days.

Bank of India: The stock surged by 4.28% on Friday. It traded flat throughout the day until the last 75 minutes of the trade where it shot up over 4%. About 80% of the total daily volume was recorded during this period. It has closed above the 20-DMA and with such huge volume, one can expect the stock to trade higher in coming days.
