On the macro-economic front, UK inflation numbers came in yesterday. As per the reports, UK inflation hit a new 40-year high of 9.4% in June, from 9.1% in May.

On the domestic front, the government slashed the windfall tax on crude oil by 27%. It further went on to reduce export tax on petrol, diesel and jet fuel, providing relief to state-run oil producers and refiners such as Reliance Industries Ltd.

Moreover, the exports of finished steel from India jumped over 25% to 13.49 million tons (MT) in 2021-22. Further, as per the CMIE estimates, unemployment rate in India is witnessing a gradual decline. As of 14 June, the unemployment rate stood at 7.29% against 7.80% in June.

Soon, all eyes will be set on the RBI’s MPC meet, which is rescheduled for 03 August to 05 August.
