Milky Mist Dairy Food Limited is a value-added dairy products company that procures milk and processes it into a diversified portfolio of packaged dairy products. Unlike traditional dairy companies focused heavily on liquid milk, Milky Mist concentrates on higher-value products such as paneer, cheese, curd, butter, ghee, yogurt, ice cream and UHT products.

The company traces its origins to a partnership business established in Tamil Nadu in 1998 and was subsequently incorporated as a private limited company in 2014. Its manufacturing operations are based in Tamil Nadu, and the company has built a particularly strong presence across southern India.

Milky Mist has established leadership positions in select value-added dairy categories. It is a leader in India's organised packaged paneer segment, has a strong position in packaged cheese in South India and held an estimated 35-40% share of the organised Greek yogurt market by value in FY26.

Milky Mist Dairy Food IPO is a book-built mainboard issue of ₹1,553 crore. The issue comprises a fresh issue of ₹1,428 crore and an offer for sale of ₹125 crore by existing shareholders.

The IPO opened for subscription on August 11, 2026 and closed on August 13, 2026. The basis of allotment is expected to be finalised on August 14, 2026, while the shares are proposed to be listed on BSE and NSE.

The IPO price band was fixed at ₹133 to ₹140 per share, with a lot size of 107 shares. The company also raised approximately ₹465 crore from anchor investors ahead of the public issue.

Milky Mist Dairy Food IPO Share Price and Investment Details

The company raised approximately ₹465 crore from anchor investors ahead of opening the issue to public investors.

With the overall issue subscribed 58.69 times, including 164.03 times QIB, 36.56 times NII and 8.17 times retail demand based on the provided final data, competition for allotment is high.

Utilisation of IPO Proceeds

Milky Mist proposes to use a significant portion of the fresh issue proceeds towards capital expenditure and repayment or prepayment of borrowings.

The capital expenditure programme is intended to support the expansion of the company's manufacturing and distribution infrastructure as it increases production capacity and expands its presence across India's value-added dairy market.

Since the IPO also contains a ₹125 crore offer-for-sale component, Milky Mist will not receive the proceeds attributable to shares sold by the selling shareholders.

Business Overview

Milky Mist operates with a differentiated dairy business model focused predominantly on value-added dairy products rather than commoditised liquid milk. Its portfolio spans paneer, cheese, curd, butter, ghee, yogurt, ice cream and other packaged dairy categories.

The company has built particularly strong positions in southern India, which accounts for around 70% of its revenue. While this provides strong brand recognition and distribution density in its core markets, it also creates geographic concentration that the company will need to address as it expands nationally.

Milky Mist has demonstrated strong financial growth ahead of the IPO. Its focus on value-added products, rather than conventional liquid milk, allows it to participate in categories where branding, product innovation, distribution and cold-chain infrastructure play an important role in consumer purchasing decisions.

Key strengths include a recognised consumer dairy brand, leadership in packaged paneer, strong positioning in South India's cheese market, a diversified value-added dairy portfolio and an established manufacturing and cold-chain distribution ecosystem.

Investors should also consider risks associated with regional revenue concentration, fluctuations in raw milk procurement prices, cold-chain and distribution costs, competition from large national and regional dairy brands, working-capital requirements and execution risks associated with expanding beyond the company's core southern markets.
