Indian Biscuit Maker Anmol Industries Files for ₹18 Billion IPO
Last Updated: 28th September 2026 - 08:40 pm
Indian biscuit maker Anmol Industries has filed for an initial public offering worth up to ₹18 billion, or about $187.87 million, marking another attempt by the Kolkata-based company to enter the public markets.
The IPO will consist entirely of shares sold by an existing shareholder. Anmol Industries will not issue any fresh shares and will not receive proceeds from the offering.
Baijnath Choudhary & Family Trust, the company’s largest shareholder with a stake of about 84%, will be the sole selling shareholder in the IPO.
Anmol returns with IPO plan after 2018 attempt
This is not Anmol Industries’ first attempt to list on the stock exchanges.
The company had planned a ₹7.5 billion IPO in 2018 and received approval from the market regulator. That offering, however, did not go ahead.
The latest filing comes as activity in India’s primary market picks up following a relatively muted first half of the year.
Intensive Fiscal Services, ICICI Securities and IIFL Capital Services are managing the offering.
Profit jumps five-fold in latest financial year
Anmol Industries posted an impressive turnaround in their financial performance for the year ended on March 31.
Net profits grew five times to ₹1.91 billion, while revenues surged by 28% to nearly ₹21 billion.
Formed in 1994, the company has developed a wide range of products in the form of biscuits, cookies, and cakes. They have 70 brands for their products and export to 31 countries.
In India’s packaged foods market, Anmol competes with listed companies including Britannia Industries, ITC and Mrs. Bectors Food Specialities.
The IPO filing brings Anmol back to the primary market eight years after its earlier listing plan was shelved, this time through an offer consisting solely of shares held by its largest investor.
