The Sensex was trading at 59,198.31, down by 360.02 points or 0.60%, and Nifty was trading at 17,677.75, down by 102.25 points or 0.58%.

The top 5 gainers in the Sensex pack were Maruti Suzuki, Asian Paints, Axis Bank, ITC, and Titan Company. On the flip side, the top losers were HDFC Ltd, Larsen & Toubro, Infosys, Kotak Mahindra Bank, and Hindustan Unilever.

The Nifty Midcap 100 index is trading at 30,946.50 and is down by 0.51%. The top three gainers of the index were Dhani Services, TVS Motors, and Gujarat State Petronet. Each of these scrips was up by more than 5%. Similarly, the top 3 stocks dragging the index were Mahindra & Mahindra Financial Services, Godrej Properties, and Fortis Healthcare.

The Nifty Smallcap 100 index is trading at 11,354.60 up by 0.13%. The top 3 gainers of the index were Blue Star, TV 18 Broadcast, and Bharat Dynamics. Each of these scrips was up by more than 6%. The top 3 stocks dragging the index were VIP Industries, Multi Commodity Exchange of India, and Sun Pharma Advanced Research Company Ltd.

On the sectoral front, Nifty Auto was trading 1.49% higher, whereas Nifty IT, Nifty Realty, and Nifty Oil & Gas were trading at a discount of 1% to 3%.
