The top 5 losers on the Sensex were Tata Steel, TCS, Bharti Airtel, SBI, and NTPC. Each of these scrips was down by more than 3%.
The Nifty Midcap 100 index is trading at 28,206.30 and is down by 1.29%. The top three gainers of the index were Indiabulls Housing Finance, Nippon Life India Asset Management Ltd, and Mphasis. Each of these scrips was up by more than 2%. Similarly, the top 3 stocks dragging the index were Dhani Services, Union Bank, and CESC Ltd.
The Nifty Smallcap 100 index is trading at 9,829.55 down by 2.18%. The top 3 gainers of the index were CSB Bank, VIP Industries, and Route Mobile. Each of these scrips was up by more than 2%. The top 3 stocks dragging the index are Multi Commodity Exchange of India, Dilip Buildcon, and Rain Industries.
All the sectoral indices on the Nifty were bearish as the geopolitical tension between Ukraine and Russia still persists to spook the global markets. Nifty Media, Nifty Media, Nifty Consumer Durables, and Nifty Oil & Gas were down by more than 2% in the afternoon session.
