The domestic benchmark indices were trading with losses at the day's low level with Nifty below the 17000 level. 

At noon, Sensex was down 562.15 points or 0.98% at the 57,063.76 level while Nifty was down 162 points or 0.95% at 16,961.60. About 1001 shares advanced, 2062 shares declined and 119 shares are unchanged. The stocks of HCL Technologies, Nestle India, Sun Pharma Industries, Dr Reddy’s Laboratories and NTPC were the top positive contributors to Sensex. In contrast, Reliance, HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank, Infosys and Bajaj Finance were the top Sensex losers.

On the sectoral front, all sectors traded lower with the majority of indices trading more than 1% lower. BSE Telecom Index was the top losing index dragged by Tata Communication, RailTel Corporation of India and Route Mobile. The indices in the broader markets plunged as Nifty MidCap 100 and Nifty SmallCap 100 fell to 1%. Meanwhile, India VIX climbed over 3%. 

In today’s weak market, the shares of Wipro rattled 6 per cent and touched a fresh 52-week low the company's Q3FY23 revenue growth guidance was below street estimates. The shares of HCL Technologies zoomed 4% on positive sentiments as the company raised its full-year revenue growth guidance to 13.5-14.5%.
