After a tumultuous day on Thursday, the domestic equity index concluded with modest gains.

The Nifty finished below the threshold of 17,350. Stocks of metal, media, and real estate were popular. Pharma, healthcare, and FMCG companies, on the other hand, were under pressure.

Due to the expiration of weekly options on the NSE, trading remained erratic. The barometer index, the S&P BSE Sensex, increased 156.63 points or 0.27% to 58,222.10 as per preliminary closing data. Reaching 17,331.80, the Nifty 50 index rose 57.50 points, or 0.33%. Benchmark indexes underperformed the overall market. While the S&P BSE Small-Cap index increased by 1.30%, the S&P BSE Mid-Cap index increased by 1.13%. Today, 2,365 shares increased and 1,091 shares decreased on the BSE, while 127 shares were unchanged overall.

The yield on the benchmark 10-year federal paper for India increased to 7.454 from 7.362 at the close of the previous trading session. The value of the rupee relative to the dollar decreased in the foreign currency market. The partially convertible rupee was trading at 82.04, down from its previous trading session's finish of 81.6200. The US Dollar index (DXY), which measures the value of the dollar in relation to a variety of other currencies, increased by 0.24% to 111.34. The 10-year bond yield for the United States climbed to 3.775 from 3.759 at the close of the previous trading session. Brent crude for December 2022 settlement dropped 15 cents, or 0.16%, to USD 93.22 a barrel on the commodities market.

Ujjivan Small Finance Bank increased by 5.17% today. In comparison to the Rs 14,514 crore recorded on September 30, 2021, the bank's gross loan book increased by 44% to Rs 20,938 crore as of September 30, 2022. JSW Energy saw a 13.24% increase after the company announced that JSW Neo Energy, a wholly-owned subsidiary, had signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Maharashtra Government to establish Pane (Raigarh) pump storage project, a 960 megawatt (MW) hydro pumped storage project (PSP), in the state.
