Domestic mutual funds accounted for a large portion of the anchor allocation in SFC Environmental Technologies' initial public offering, with eight mutual funds receiving a combined 54.09 lakh shares before the public issue opened.

The Navi Mumbai-based environmental technology company raised ₹200.25 crore from 11 anchor investors on 26 October. It allotted 60.68 lakh shares at ₹330 per share through the anchor book. Of these, 54.09 lakh shares were allocated to eight domestic mutual funds.

The domestic fund participants included mutual funds associated with SBI, Nippon Life India, ICICI Prudential, Quant, Edelweiss and Sundaram, among others, according to the report.

Other institutional participants in the anchor book included Government Pension Fund Global, Societe Generale and Edelweiss Life Insurance Company.

SFC Environmental Technologies opened its IPO for subscription on 27 October, with the issue scheduled to close on 29 October.

The company has set a price band of ₹313 to ₹330 per share and is seeking to raise approximately ₹667.5 crore at the upper end of the range. The offer comprises a ₹150 crore fresh issue and an offer for sale of around 1.56 crore shares, valued at approximately ₹517.53 crore at the upper price.

The fresh issue and OFS have different financial implications for the company. Proceeds from the fresh issue will be available to SFC Environmental Technologies, while money raised through the offer-for-sale component will go to the selling shareholders.

The company plans to deploy ₹42.2 crore of fresh-issue proceeds towards debt repayment and ₹74.9 crore towards working-capital requirements, with the balance allocated for general corporate purposes. Outstanding borrowings stood at ₹253.1 crore as of July 2026, according to the IPO report.

SFC Environmental Technologies operates across wastewater treatment, wastewater recycling and reuse, and solid-waste treatment.

As of August 2026, its order book included ₹641 crore of wastewater-treatment projects, ₹561 crore in wastewater recycling and reuse, and ₹454.5 crore relating to solid-waste treatment.

For the quarter ended June 2026, the company reported a profit of ₹1.5 crore, compared with a loss of ₹1.3 crore in the year-earlier period. Quarterly revenue increased to ₹133.9 crore from ₹67.8 crore.

The anchor allocation is relevant to the mutual fund industry because it shows participation by domestic fund houses in a newly launched public issue. It does not, however, indicate how the stock will perform after listing or how individual mutual fund schemes containing the stock may subsequently perform.
