The Indian benchmark indices were trading higher with BSE Telecommunication Index and BSE Realty Index being the top-gaining sectoral indices. 

On Thursday, the benchmark indices were trading higher with Sensex up around 149 points or 0.24% at 61,348 and the Nifty trading up by 50 points or 0.27% at 18,139. 

About 2,179 shares have advanced, 1,314 have declined and 136 were unchanged on BSE.  

Top Gainer & Losers on BSE: 

Bajaj Finance, Tata Steel and State Bank of India were the top Sensex gainers today, while ICICI Bank, IndusInd Bank and Power Grid Corporation of India were the top Sensex loser. 

The indices traded in a higher manner in the broader markets, with the BSE Mid-cap index up by 0.60% and the BSE Small-cap index up by 0.65%, respectively. The top mid-cap gainers are GTL Infrastructure and HFCL Ltd, while the top small-cap gainers were BEML Ltd and Aurionpro Solutions.

The indices were trading mixed on the sectoral front, with the BSE Telecommunication Index leading the gainers whereas BSE Realty Index dragging the losers. The BSE Telecommunication Index soared by 0.88%, led by Tata Teleservices Ltd and Optiemus Infracom whereas BSE Realty Index plunged by 0.90% dragged down by Godrej Properties and Macrotech Developers Ltd. 

In the pre-opening session, these 3 stocks were trending: Bhansali Engineering Polymers Ltd, Brightcom Group and Vinati Organics Ltd.
