Top 10 Penny Stocks Gainers Today - Jun 16, 2022

The market fell for the fifth consecutive day, Sensex dropped 1046 points, while the Nifty tanked by 331 points.

The S&P BSE Sensex, the barometer index, fell 1,045.60 points, or 1.99%, to 51,495.79. To 15,360.60, the Nifty 50 index fell 331.55 points or 2.11%. After beginning above 15,800, the Nifty began to fall as the day went on, eventually closing below 15,400. Metals, automobiles, banks, and financials were among the most heavily sold. NSE's weekly index options expired today, causing trading to be turbulent.

In five sessions, the Sensex and the Nifty have dropped 6.91% and 6.78%, respectively. Today, the S&P BSE Mid-Cap index declined 2.34%, while the S&P BSE Small-Cap index sank 2.87% in the broader market. Tech Mahindra (down 4.37%), Bharti Airtel (down 4.11%), Wipro (down 4.04%), and IndusInd Bank (down 3.96%) all suffered losses.

 Today, 620 shares climbed and 2,754 shares fell on the BSE and 102 shares remained unchanged. The rupee was trading at 78.10 versus the dollar in the foreign currency market, up from 78.22 at the previous trading session's conclusion. Gold futures on the MCX increased 0.02% to Rs 50,450 for the 5 August 2022 settlement. Brent crude for the August 2022 settlement slid 57 cents, or 0.48%, to $117.94 a barrel on the commodities market.

The Dow Futures fell 608 points, predicting a bad start to the day for US stocks. After the US Federal Reserve hiked benchmark interest rates by 75 basis points, the most aggressive hike since 1994, European stocks fell and most Asian stocks ended negative on Thursday. In a statement, the Fed stated that it was dedicated to lowering inflation down to 2%. It also stated that it would continue to cut its Treasury, agency debt, and agency mortgage-backed securities holdings. Officials also slashed their growth forecast for 2022, now expecting only a 1.7% increase in GDP, down from 2.8% in March.
