Vodafone Idea Shares Rise Over 1%, Snap Two-Session Losing Streak
Last Updated: 17th September 2026 - 02:41 pm
Vodafone Idea shares found some support in Thursday’s trade, ending a two-session run of losses as the broader market opened on a positive note.
The telecom stock began the session at ₹14.25 on the NSE, almost unchanged from its previous close of ₹14.26. Buying picked up after the opening bell, taking the stock as much as 1.05% higher to an intraday peak of ₹14.443.
The recovery comes while investors are also tracking regulatory developments involving the company.
The exchanges were informed by Vodafone Idea on September 16 that they have received an order from Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI). This pertains to the company’s inability to achieve the Quality of Service standards in various regions in November 2025, as per the Standards of Quality of Service of Access and Broadband Service Regulations, 2024.
As per the company’s disclosure, the maximum financial impact of the order will be constrained to only the financial disincentive that can be levied as per TRAI norms. The company is studying the order and planning its next steps.
This is not the first such regulatory development for the telecom company in recent days. Earlier in the week, the company received another TRAI order due to their inability to achieve Quality of Service standards in various regions in October 2025.
The previous order had a financial disincentive of ₹2 lakh.
The company has made a change in its board as well. As per the recommendation of the Nomination and Remuneration Committee of the company, Gopika Pant has been appointed as an additional director as non-executive independent director.
Thursday’s gain provided some respite for the stock after consecutive down days in the market. The movement also came alongside a broader improvement in market sentiment, while the recent TRAI orders kept company-specific developments in focus.
