Both Nifty and Sensex opened on a positive note on September 23, 2026. Nifty is currently trading at 23,440 at 11:46 AM, gaining over 100 points.

According to FII and DII data, FIIs remained net sellers on Tuesday, September 22, selling equities worth ₹4,220 crore. At the same time, DIIs purchased equities worth ₹3,333 crore. Additionally, a pullback in Brent crude oil prices provided further relief to domestic equities, helping to improve overall investor sentiment.

Top Gainers for September 23: OLA Electric, Elecon Engineering Company, & Wockhardt Gain Up to 10.5%

OLA Electric Gains 10.5%

OLA Electric emerged as the top gainer in the Nifty 500 index on September 23, 2026. At 10:42am,OLA Electric share price was trading at ₹41.73, up 10.5% from its previous close on the NSE.Trading volumes jumped at 21.3 crore shares, compared with the 30-day average volume of 5.6 crore shares,showing increased investor confidence in the company.

Elecon Engineering Company Rises Over 10.3%

Elecon Engineering Company share price rose to ₹464, gaining 10.% from its previous close on the NSE.Trading volumes stood at 90 lakh shares, compared with the 30-day average volume of 8.32 lakh shares.

After the stock fell by 30% between May 6th and September 16th , 2026 ,strong company performance, positive prospects, and high trading volumes helped it rebound by 10.3%. 

Wockhardt Gains 6.3%

At 10:42 am, the Wockhardt share price was trading at ₹2323 , reflecting a gain of 6.3% from its previous close on the NSE.
Trading volumes also remained strong at 25 lakh shares, compared with the 30-day average volume of 10 lakh shares.The Stock is currently Trading 4.3% down from its 52-week high of ₹2,422.

Top Losers for September 23: Ather Energy,Emmvee Photovol and Meesho Fall Up to 3.7%

Ather Energy Falls 3.7%

Ather Energy emerged as the top loser in the Nifty 500 index on September 23, 2026.At 10:42 am, Ather Energy share price was trading at ₹1486, down 3.7% from its previous close on the NSE. Trading volumes currently stand at 38 lakh shares, compared with the 30-day average volume of 45 lakh shares.

The Ather Energy stock has seen an impressive rally of 190% from February 1st to September 1st, and is now experiencing a routine correction or profit booking.On September 21st, the company also established a Wholly Owned Subsidiary (WOS) in Hong Kong to support its critical procurement functions and enhance supply chain resilience within the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region. 

Emmvee Photovol Drops 2.95%

Emmvee Photovoltaic emerged as the top loser in the Nifty 500 index on September 23, 2026. At 10:42 am, Ather Energy share price was trading at ₹330, down 2.95% from its previous close on the NSE. Trading volumes currently stand at 15 lakh shares, compared with the 30-day average volume of 21 lakh shares.

The Emmvee Photovoltaic stock has been trading close to its 52-week high of ₹371, leading to a routine correction. Additionally, the company has made changes to its corporate governance: Mr. Murugesh C has been appointed as the Company Secretary, while Mr. Nagaraj Srinivas Ronad has ceased to hold the position of Compliance Officer. 

Meesho Falls Over 2.78%

At 10:42 pm, the Meesho share price was trading at ₹234, down 2.78% from its previous close on the NSE.Trading volumes currently stand at 1.8 crore shares, compared with the 30-day average volume of 2 crore shares.

On September 22, 2026, Meesho hit a 52-week high of ₹254 driven by high trading volumes, and as a result, some profit-booking is being observed today.
