Last Updated: 11th September 2026 - 12:18 pm
The Indian benchmark indices declined on Friday as rising geopolitical tensions in West Asia pushed crude oil prices higher. The increase in oil prices raised concerns over inflation and added pressure on investor sentiment.
The Nifty 50 and Sensex slipped to their lowest levels since June, with selling pressure visible across sectors. Mid- and small-cap stocks were also affected by the broader market weakness. Meanwhile, Brent crude rose above $108 per barrel in Asian trading and was approaching the $110 mark.
