Britannia Industries Ltd reported a 10% drop in its consolidated net profit for the second quarter, with earnings at ₹531 crore for the period ending September 2024, compared to ₹588 crore in the same quarter last year.

- Revenue: Rose 5% YoY to ₹4,668 crore in the second quarter, compared with ₹4,433 crore in the same quarter of last year.
- Net Profit: ₹531 crore in the quarter ended September 2024.
- Stock Market: On Monday, Britannia’s shares ended the trading day nearly 6% lower at ₹5,404.9 on the NSE.
Britannia Industries Management Commentary
The company reported an 8% increase in volume during the second quarter, and management noted that the sequential rise in revenue and operating profits is a satisfactory outcome, especially given the challenging environment of significant commodity inflation and subdued consumer demand across most FMCG categories.
"We are committed to investing in capability enhancement and brand development with the clear objective of driving market share and sustaining profits," said Varun Berry, Vice Chairman & Managing Director, Britannia said.
"The preliminary results of the pilots across 25 cities covering more than 50,000 outlets are encouraging," Britannia said.

On Monday, Britannia’s shares closed the trading session down by nearly 6%, settling at ₹5,404.9 on the NSE.
