Petrol, Diesel Prices Unchanged On July 20; Check City-Wise Rates

Fuel prices remained steady across major cities on Monday, July 20, 2026, while recent increases in crude oil prices and changes in fuel export duties continue to influence the broader energy market.

Petrol And Diesel Prices On July 20

Oil marketing companies revise petrol and diesel prices at 6 am every day. The rates vary across states and cities because of local taxes, transportation costs and other charges.

Hyderabad recorded the highest petrol price among the cities listed, at ₹115.69 per litre. Thiruvananthapuram followed at ₹115.49 per litre. The cheapest price for petrol was in Chandigarh, which was ₹98.10 per litre, while the cost of petrol was ₹102.05 and ₹102.12 per litre in Lucknow and New Delhi, respectively.

The highest price for diesel was in Thiruvananthapuram, which was ₹104.40 per litre.Chandigarh had the lowest diesel price in the list at ₹86.09 per litre.

Recent Fuel Price Changes

Petrol and diesel prices were recently increased by around ₹7.5 per litre by oil marketing companies amid higher crude oil prices linked to the West Asia crisis. The government also raised the export duty on diesel and aviation turbine fuel (ATF) in its latest fortnightly review.

For the fortnight beginning June 16, the diesel export duty was increased to ₹14 per litre from ₹13.5 per litre. The levy on ATF exports rose to ₹12.5 per litre from ₹9.5 per litre, while the export duty on petrol remained unchanged at ₹1.5 per litre.

The recent rise in crude oil price has kept fuel markets under close watch, particularly as international energy prices influence domestic fuel costs and government revenue measures.

LPG And CNG Rates

The price of a 14.2-kg domestic LPG cylinder in Delhi increased by ₹29 from June 7, taking the rate to ₹942 from ₹913. The price of a 19-kg commercial LPG cylinder in Delhi had earlier risen by ₹42 to ₹3,113.50 from June 1.

In Mumbai, CNG prices increased by ₹2 to ₹86 per kg, while domestic PNG prices rose by 50 paise to ₹52 per standard cubic metre. The changes came after an earlier increase in CNG prices.
