NCDEX and MCX were founded and started trading commodities in 2003. The Forward Markets Commission oversaw both the MCX and the NCDEX until 2016 (FMC). The government resolved to include them under SEBI in the Union Budget of 2016. SEBI has been in charge of the two main commodities exchanges ever since. About Multi-commodity Exchange of India (MCX/NCDEX)

When it comes to the trading of commodities in India, MCX MCX, or Multi Commodity Exchange and NCDEX, or National Commodity & Derivative Exchange Limited, are two of the most well-known names in commodity trading.
