Indian equities were trading cautiously on Wednesday, October 14, following yesterday’s sharp rally, the Nifty 50 was trading at 22,689, down 0.14% at 9:40 am. Strong IT earnings, short covering and hopes of a review of stock market taxes supported the rebound. However, Brent crude oil trading above $106 per barrel remained a concern, while the rupee’s recovery against the US dollar provided some relief.

Foreign institutional investors (FIIs) sold equities worth approximately ₹1,305 crore on Tuesday, while domestic institutional investors (DIIs) purchased around ₹2,439 crore, helping offset the outflows. Tata Elxsi, Bharat Electronics and Wipro remained in focus amid earnings and company-specific developments. Investors will closely watch crude oil prices, rupee movements, global cues and upcoming corporate earnings for further direction.
