Nifty 50 opened lower on weak global cues. In this article, we would be listing top mid-cap stocks having higher ROCE and low PE.

Nifty 50 opened the session lower at 17,968.35 amid weak global cues as against its previous close of 18,082.85. Although the markets are off the day’s low, it is still trading below their previous close. On Wednesday, key Wall Street indices slumped after the US Fed announced its policy outcome for the month of November 2022 and the news conference of Jerome Powell.

Although the US Fed delivered dovish statements after announcing another 75 basis points rate hike, Jerome Powell passed hawkish comment at the press conference. He said that it is very premature to pause rate hikes. Hence, despite a brief rally amid a dovish statement, the markets ended lower after Powell’s hawkish comment.

Nasdaq composite tanked 3.36%, Dow Jones tumbled 1.55% and S&P 500 sank 2.5% in overnight trade. On Thursday, major Asian indices dropped amid Powell’s hawkish comments, crushing hopes of market participants regarding the slowing of the pace of interest rate hikes.

At 1:10 p.m., Nifty 50 was trading at 18,011.6, down by 71.25 points or 0.39%. Broader market indices outperformed frontline indices. Nifty Mid-Cap 100 index is trading up by 0.04% and the Nifty Small-Cap 100 index gained 0.05%.

According to the data as on November 2, FIIs were net buyers while DIIs were net sellers. Foreign Institutional Investors (FII) bought shares to the tune of Rs 1,436.3 crore. Domestic Institutional Investors (DII) sold shares worth Rs 1,378.12 crore.
