Tracking a strong rally in the global equity market along with softening crude oil prices helped domestic equities to rally in today’s trade. Nifty 50 closed in green with a gain of 311.70 points. It opened at 17202.9 against the previous close of 16975.35, which means a gap up of 227.55 points. Overall, we saw that in today's trade more stocks closed in green.

The best performing index was NIFTY REALTY it was up by 3.13%. This is followed by NIFTY FINANCIAL SERVICES 25/50, which was up by 2.87%. The worst performing index in today's trade was NIFTY IT. It is down by 0.24 per cent. Out of total 10.0 companies forming part of the index, 3.0 companies closed in red, and 7.0 closed in green.

Companies that supported Nifty 50 in today’s trade were 'Reliance', 'HDFC', 'HDFC Bank', 'Titan Company' and 'Bajaj Finance' together they contributed around 157.4 points gain in index. While the companies that dragged the index were 'Coal India', 'HCL Tech', 'Cipla', 'IOC' and 'Infosys'. These companies contributed 25.31 points towards the fall of Nifty 50

Overall market today was in favour of advances. At close advance to decline ratio stood at 362:123.
