Low Price Shares locked in Upper Circuit on May 05

At 11:30 am on Thursday, Indian benchmark indices Sensex and Nifty opened with strong gains tracking positive global sentiments. The BSE Sensex rose to 56,361.28, while the NSE Nifty 50 climbed to 16,895.30 levels.

In the morning session, BSE Midcap also zoomed and was trading at 23,870.99 levels. BSE Smallcap index too jumped and traded at the level of 28,020.53. The top gaining stocks on BSE Sensex were Tata Steel, Infosys Ltd and Tech Mahindra Ltd. 

Nifty 50 index also surged and was trading at 16,895.30 levels. The gaining stocks on the Nifty 50 were Hero Motocorp, Tata Steel and Infosys Ltd. On the other hand, stocks dragging the index include Tata Consumer Products, Nestle India and Titan Company Ltd.

The Nifty Midcap index was trading at 29,480.10 levels. The top three gainers of the index were ABB India Ltd, IDFC First Bank and Container Corporation Ltd. The Nifty Smallcap index was trading at 9,973.80 levels. The top three gainers of the index were Justdial Ltd, TV18 Broadcast Ltd and RBL Bank Ltd.
