Low price stocks: These scrips are locked in the upper circuit on March 7

At 11.30 am on Monday, the markets fell sharply amidst weaker global cues with Nifty 50 giving up the 16,000- level mark, as the Asian markets also suffered. The crude oil prices also have hit a decade-high price at USD 129 per barrel, causing a ripple effect on the markets globally.

There was a bloodbath on D-street as Sensex is trading at 53,134.50 down by 1,199.31 points, or 2.21% and the Nifty was down by 320.70 points or 1.97% at 15,924.65 levels, respectively.

The top five gainers in the Nifty 50 pack are Hindalco Industries, ONGC, Coal India, Bharti Airtel, UPL, and HCL Technologies. Meanwhile, the top five stocks pulling down the index are Maruti Suzuki, Axis Bank, Bajaj Finserv, IndusInd Bank, and SBI.

BSE Midcap index is trading at a level of 22,210.05, down by 1.81%. The top 3 gainers of the index were Indraprastha Gas, Zee Entertainment Enterprises, and GlaxoSmithKline. Each of these scrips gained more than 2%. The top three stocks dragging the index were Endurance Technologies, Cholamandalam Investment and Fin Co, and Shriram Transport Finance.

BSE Smallcap index is trading at, 25,851.68 down by 1.65%. The top three gainers are Future Enterprises DVR, HEG, and Gujarat Mineral and Development Corporation. Each of these stocks gained more than 7%. The top three stocks pulling the index down include GOCL Corporation, La Opala RG, and Arvind.

Almost all the sectoral indices on the BSE were trading in the red territory, where BSE Auto, BSE Realty, BSE Capital Goods, BSE Realty, and BSE Finance were down by more than 3%. On the contrary, BSE IT and BSE Metal  (up by 1.39%) were trading in the green.
