PM Modi Unveils ₹41,000 Crore Investment in 2,000 Railway Projects Today

On Monday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched over 2,000 railway projects valued at approximately ₹41,000 crore. Speaking at the event Modi called it a symbol of the work culture of 'New India. Modi In a post shared on X Prime Minister Modi expressed, "To improve travel experiences we'll revamp 553 stations through the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme. We'll also lay foundation stones for these stations and inaugurate overbridges and underpasses nationwide. These efforts aim to enhance people's quality of life."

Key Highlights

1. Amrit Bharat Scheme: PM Modi launched the renovation of 553 railway stations through the Amrit Bharat scheme. These stations are slated for transformation with plans to enhance facilities including rooftop plazas and city centers aiming to elevate the travel experience for passengers.

2. Road Overbridges and Underbridges: Nearly 1,500 road overbridges and underpasses across various states were marked for foundation stone laying. 6. Gurugram Railway Station Upgrade: PM Modi laid the foundation for upgrading the Gurugram railway station with an initial phase estimated at ₹295 crore as per the report. This initiative aims to enhance facilities and accommodate future passenger footfall.

7. Inauguration of Gomti Nagar Station: Gomti Nagar station in Uttar Pradesh was inaugurated following redevelopment with an investment of around ₹385 crores.

8. Healthcare and Infrastructure Development: PM Modi highlighted recent endeavors in healthcare and infrastructure development including the inauguration of AIIMS institutions and medical facilities in Rajkot, highlighting the government's commitment to holistic progress.

9. Total Investment Breakdown: The total investment for railway infrastructure projects amounts to ₹41,000 crore comprising redevelopment of railway stations, construction of road overbridges and underpasses, and upgrades to existing facilities.
