Shares of IndiGo gain on commencing four new direct flights

InterGlobe Aviation offers international and domestic air transportation services. 

With effect from May 22, 2023, InterGlobe Aviation (IndiGo) has added additional service from North Goa to Patna, Bhopal, Vadodara, and Dehradun. Effective May 24, 2023, the airline will offer a service connecting North Goa to Ranchi via Patna. These flights are intended to improve internal connectivity and provide passengers with more flying options, particularly to Goa, India's most well-known tourist destination. The addition of these routes will bring the total number of flights operating from North Goa to 22.

Today, the stock opened at Rs 2,280, with a high and low of Rs 2,300 and Rs 2,265.70. At the time of writing, the shares are trading at Rs 2,286.05, up by 0.70%. The stock has a 52-week high of Rs 2,332.85 and a 52-week low of Rs 1,513.30.        

Company profile 

The biggest passenger airline in India and a low-cost carrier is Interglobe Aviation Ltd. (Indigo). It offers travellers a straightforward, unbundled product, living up to its unique brand promise of giving consumers "low fares, on-time flights, and a courteous and hassle-free service" across 86 destinations, including 24 foreign destinations. With just one aircraft, IndiGo launched its operations in August 2006 and has now expanded to a fleet of 300 aircraft today. 

With a domestic market share of 56.8% as of March 2023, IndiGo is India's largest passenger airline. With an emphasis on its three pillars of providing low fares, being on time, and providing a pleasant and hassle-free service, the company primarily operates in India's domestic air travel market as a low-cost carrier. With 75 domestic and 26 foreign destinations, IndiGo has a total of 101 destinations.
