Cummins India Ltd’s share was trading in red as Cummins announced voluntary retirement scheme (VRS) at Kothrud Plant in Pune. The scheme is for employees above 45 and less than 57 years of age as on May 16, 2022.
SGX Nifty indicated a positive opening with a gain of 40 points. As a result, Indian headline indicators Sensex and Nifty 50 were also trading in green territory. At 11:30 am, the market strength was good as 2202 equities increased on the BSE, whereas 999 declined, and 170 shares remained unchanged. Around 281 stocks are locked in the upper circuit, whereas 177 were in their lower circuit. The Sensex was trading at a level of 53,131.77, upwards by 0.64%, and the Nifty 50 was trading at 15,932.65, up by 0.95%.
BSE Midcap index was trading at a level of 22,066.84, jumped by 1.15%. The top gainers of the index were Crisil Ltd, Macrotech Developers Ltd and Vodafone Idea Ltd. The top stocks dragging the index down were Aditya Birla Capital Ltd, Honeywell Automation India Ltd and Nippon Life India Asset Management Ltd.
BSE Smallcap index was trading at 25,526.30 , surged by 0.83%. The top gainers were Supriya Lifesciences Ltd, Rattan India Enterprises Ltd and Elgi Equipments Ltd. All of these stocks were jumped by more than 12%. The top stocks pulling the index down were Amber Enterprises Ltd, Privi Speciality Chemicals Ltd and Tinplate Company of India Ltd.
