At 11.30 am on Wednesday, the frontline equity indices i.e, Sensex and Nifty 50 opened up in the green with the Sensex regaining the 58,000-level mark. The Sensex is trading at 58,22.65, up by 418.07 points, and the Nifty was up by 131.85 points at 17,398.60 levels, respectively.
The top gainers of Nifty 50 are Coal India, IndusInd Bank, Maruti Suzuki, Bajaj Auto, and Hindalco. Meanwhile, the top five stocks pulling up the index include SBI Life Insurance Company, IOC, HDFC Life Insurance, Sun Pharmaceuticals, and BPCL.
BSE Midcap index is trading at a level of 24,502.28, up by 0.70%. The top three gainers of the index include Sun TV Network, Apollo Hospital, and Federal Bank. Each of these scrips was up by more than 4%. The top three stocks dragging the index were Endurance Technologies, Jindal Steel, and Indraprastha Gas Ltd.
BSE Smallcap index is trading at 29,133.72, up by 0.23%. The top three gainers are Zuari Agro Chem, Deep Industries, and Transpek Industry. Each of these stocks gained more than 12%. The top three stocks pulling the index up include Stove Kraft, Ind-Swift Laboratories, and Medicamen Biotech.
The sectoral indices are also up, with BSE Private Bank, BSE Auto, and BSE Consumer Durables being up by more than 1%.
