V-mart Retail Limited, Bank of Maharashtra, and General Insurance Corporation of India have witnessed a volume burst in the last 75 minutes of the trade.

As the saying goes, the first, as well as the last hour of each trading session, is the most important and active in terms of price & volume.

More so, the activity in the last hour is said to be of utmost importance because most of the pro-traders and institutions are active at this time. Hence, when a stock sees a good spike in volume in the last leg of the trade along with a price rise, it is considered a pro, and institutions have a keen interest in the stock. Market participants should keep a close watch on these stocks as they can witness good momentum in the short to medium-term.

So, based on this principle, we have shortlisted three stocks that have witnessed volume burst in the last leg of the trade along with price rise.

V-Mart Retail Limited: The stock surged 5.55% at the end of the day. It traded on a flat note but saw a strong rally amid huge buying interest in the latter half of the day. In the last 75mintues, the stock gained about 6% and recorded huge volumes. Over 50% of the day’s volume was recorded during this period. With such high volume trading, the stock is expected to be trading with a positive bias in times to come.

Bank of Maharashtra: The stock soared 4.91% on Tuesday. It traded higher as the day [progressed and volumes grew towards the end. The daily volume stood above average and the stock managed to close above its consolidation range and at day’s high. High institutional activity can be evident from the above-average volumes. The stock is currently under a strong uptrend and is likely to be traded heavily in times to come.

General Insurance Corporation of India: The stock climbed 4.53% during Tuesday’s trading session. It saw good buying interest in the last hour when the stock rose over 5%. The stock is in a steady uptrend, and it closed at a day’s high. The volume was found to be greater than the 10-day and 30-day average volume. With such positive sentiment, the stock is likely to perform better in upcoming trading sessions.
