The top 5 gainers in the Sensex pack were Sun Pharmaceuticals, IndusInd Bank, ICICI Bank, HDFC Ltd, and Axis Bank. On the flip side, the top losers were SBI, Dr Reddy’s Laboratories, Maruti Suzuki, and Mahindra & Mahindra. 

The Nifty Midcap 100 index is trading at 30,488.40 and is up by 0.71%. The top three gainers of the index were Vodafone Idea, Cholamandalam Investment and Fin Co, and Laurus Labs. Each of these scrips was up by more than 4%. Similarly, the top 3 stocks dragging the index were Ashok Leyland, L&T Technology, and Bata India.

The Nifty Smallcap 100 index is trading at 11,174.30, up by 0.52%. The top 3 gainers of the index were Rossari Biotech, IRB Infrastructure, and Future Retail. Each of these scrips was up by more than 3%. The top 3 stocks dragging the index were TV18 Broadcast, Amber Enterprises, and UTI AMC.

On the sectoral front, almost all of the Nifty indices were either seen trading almost 1% higher in the morning session. The Nifty Private Bank was up by 2.27%, followed by Nifty Financial Services, up by almost 2%. On the other hand, Nifty Consumer Durables was down by 2.85%, Nifty Healthcare was down by 2.53% along with Nifty Oil & Gas (down by 2.07%).
