Today, NIFTY MEDIA is the best performing index and NIFTY METAL is the worst performing index.

Nifty closed in the green for the second consecutive day with a gain of 331.9 points. It opened at 16078.0 against the previous close of 16013.45, which means a gap up of 64.55 points. Nonetheless, it continued to build on the gain and closed at 16345.35 with a gain of 331.9 points. Overall, we saw that in today's trade more stocks closed in green and breadth was positive.

In today’s trade, the best performing index is NIFTY MEDIA which was up by 4.05%. This is followed by NIFTY REALTY, which is up by 3.05%. The worst performing index in today's trade was NIFTY METAL. It is down by 0.34%. Out of the total 15.0 companies forming part of the index, 8.0 companies closed in red, and 6.0 closed in green.

Companies that supported Nifty 50 in today’s trade were 'Reliance Industries', 'HDFC Bank', 'Bajaj Finance', 'Infosys' and 'Bajaj Finserve' together they contributed around 197.32 points gain in the index. While the companies that dragged the index were 'Nestle', 'ONGC', 'Tata Steel', 'Power Grid Corp' and 'Shree Cements'. These companies contributed 13.47 points towards the Nifty 50 fall.

Overall market today was in favour of advances. At close advance to decline ratio stood at 410:78.
