Today, the Indian market closed on a positive note. BSE Auto Index is the top gainer which closed up by 3.87%.

After the Indian equity market saw one of the worst falls on Monday today, the equity market closed with a green mark today. Besides, all sectoral indices closed on a positive note.

In today’s trade, Nifty 50 and BSE Sensex indices closed up by 509.65 points i.e., 3.03% and 1,736.21 points i.e., 3.08%, respectively. The stocks that supported Nifty 50 and BSE Sensex to pull up were Reliance Industries Ltd, Bajaj Finance Ltd, HDFC Bank Ltd, Infosys Ltd and ICICI Bank Ltd. Whereas no stock dragged BSE Sensex down besides stocks that dragged Nifty 50 down were Cipla Ltd and Oil & Natural Gas Corporation Ltd down. Nifty 50 and BSE Sensex opened up by 0.53% and 0.58%, respectively from the previous close.

Among BSE equity indices, S&P BSE Auto, S&P BSE BANKEX, S&P BSE Consumer Discretionary Goods & Services, S&P BSE Midcap Select Index, S&P BSE Private Banks Index and S&P BSE Telecom are top gainers. BSE Auto consisting of stocks such as Tata Motors Ltd, Eicher Motors Ltd, Hero Motocorp Ltd, Tube Investments of India Ltd, Ashok Leyland Ltd, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd and TVS Motor Company Ltd gained the most.
