Low Price Shares locked in Upper Circuit on 10-october-2022

On Monday, the bears took the charge owing to weak global cues, dull foreign flows and rising crude oil prices.

Towards the noon session, the benchmark indices faded some of the intraday losses. The Sensex was down 379.11 points or 0.65% at 57,812.18 while the Nifty was down 123.90 points or 0.72% at 17,190.80. The stocks of Axis Bank, TCS, Power Grid Corporation, NTPC and Maruti Suzuki were the top gainers whereas Asian Paints, ITC, Larsen & Toubro, HDFC Bank and HDFC were the top losers.

On the sectoral front, all sectors traded in the red with the BSE FMCG sector and BSE Capital Goods sector falling the most, beyond 1%. Jyothy Labs, Ugar Sugar Works and Shree Renuka Sugars were the top three stocks within the BSE FMCG Index, while Suzlon Energy, Timken India and Praj Industries were the top stocks in BSE Capital Goods Index. Meanwhile, at noon, in the broader markets, the Nifty MidCap 100 and Nifty SmallCap 100 slipped up to 1%. India VIX, the volatility gauge, gained 4%.

Among individual stocks, shares of Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) surged marginally higher ahead of their Q2FY23 results update. The shares of IDBI Bank jumped 11% in a volatile market after the finance ministry invited initial bids for strategic disinvestment in the lender.
