Penny Stocks Locked in the Upper Circuit on April 27, 2022

Domestic markets tanked on Wednesday’s opening bell amid weak global cues. At 11 am on Wednesday, benchmark indices Sensex and Nifty were trading in red.

The market strength was very poor as only 928 equities increased on the BSE, whereas 2250 declined. There were a total of 107 shares that remained unchanged.

In the morning session, BSE Sensex was trading at a level of 56,920.51. BSE Midcap also slipped and was trading at 24,386.34 levels. BSE Smallcap index fell and traded at the level of 28,613.20. Only gaining stocks on BSE Sensex were Reliance Industries, Kotak Mahindra Bank and HDFC Bank. All other stocks were trading in red. And, top losers were Bajaj Finance, Bajaj Finserv and Wipro. 

Nifty 50 index has also fallen into red and was trading at 17,051.10 levels. The gaining stocks on Nifty 50 were Reliance Industries, Hero Motocorp and HDFC Bank. On the other hand, stocks dragging the index include Bajaj Finance, Hindalco Industries and SBI Life Insurance Company.

The Nifty Midcap index is trading at 29,878.55 levels. The top three gainers of the index were Dr.Lal Path Labs, Voltas Ltd and Trident Ltd. Stocks dragging the index down were AU Small Finance Bank, Vodafone Idea Ltd and Tata Elxsi. All the three were down more than 3%.

The Nifty Smallcap index was trading at 10,270.35 levels. The top three gainers of the index were Dilip Buildcon Ltd, TV 18 Broadcast Ltd and KEC International Ltd. The top stocks pulling the index down were UTI Asset Management Company, Sunteck Realty and Firstsource Solutions Ltd.
