Domestic equity bourses are trading sideways today amid mixed global sentiments.

Overnight, the Wall Street indices closed lower amid negative global cues and worries on the account of rising inflation. The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 0.54% and S&P 500 slipped 0.75%. Along similar lines, Nasdaq too fell by 0.72% to the level of 11,994.46.

Considering Asian markets, most of the headline indicators were trading sidewards whereas Hong Kong’s Hang Seng slipped more than 1.5%. SGX Nifty indicated a negative opening with a loss of 75 points. Indian benchmark indicators Sensex and Nifty 50 were trading sideways.

At 10:55 am, BSE Sensex was trading upwards by 0.08% and was at a level of 55,423.95. The top gaining stocks on Sensex were Reliance Industries, Bajaj Finserv and Tata Consultancy Services. The most affected stocks were Hindustan Unilever Ltd, HDFC and Power Grid Corporation of India. The BSE Midcap fell 0.55% and was trading at a level of 22,992.73 while Smallcap index advanced by 0.08% and was trading at a level of 26,556.90.

The Nifty 50 index was trading at 16,513.85 points, fell by 0.05%. On Nifty 50 index, the top shares trading in green were Reliance Industries, Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd and Bajaj Finserv Ltd. On the other hand, stocks that witnessed a major price fall were Apollo Hospitals, Hero Motocorp and HDFC Life Insurance Company.

On the sectoral front, most indices were trading sideways with BSE Energy, BSE Power and BSE Utilities being the top-performing sectors. Whereas, BSE FMCG and BSE Auto were the market draggers.
