The Indian benchmark indices were trading lower with BSE Telecommunications Index being the top-gaining sector whereas BSE Metals Index was the top-losing sector.

On Thursday, the benchmark indices were trading lower with Sensex down around 108 points or 0.17% at 61,666 and the Nifty trading up by 32 points or 0.17% at 18,255.

About 1,821 shares have advanced, 1,326 have declined and 144 were unchanged on BSE.

Top Gainer & Losers on BSE:

Power Grid Corporation of India, Bharti Airtel and ITC Ltd were the top Sensex gainers today, while IndusInd Bank, Tata Motors and Mahindra & Mahindra were the top Sensex loser.

The indices traded in a higher manner in the broader markets, with the BSE Mid-cap index up by 0.18% and the BSE Small-cap index up by 0.45%, respectively. The top mid-cap gainers are Vodafone Idea Ltd and JSW Energy Ltd, while the top small-cap gainers were Onward Technologies Ltd and Prudent Corporate Advisory Services Ltd.

The indices were trading mixed on the sectoral front, with the BSE Telecommunication Index leading the gainers and BSE Metals Index being the losing sector. The BSE Telecommunication Index soared by 1.50%, led by Optiemus Infracom Ltd and Indus Tower Ltd whereas BSE Metals Index plunged by 0.52% dragged down by Hindalco Industries Ltd and APL Apollo Tubes Ltd.

In the pre-opening session, these 3 stocks were trending: ZF Commercial Vehicle Control Systems India, Timken India and Adani Transmission.
